House?

Is this your first attempt at this genre? I'm not really sure what defines this genre and is probably the 2nd house song I ever heard on NG. My review is going to suck. The song has that metropolitan feeling. Like flying through the dark nights in a big city or something. Hard to explain. I like this song alot, however too short. You add alot of effects and synths so I think you put lots of effort. Seems like you self composed the main lead. Effort is definitely there. For some reason it doesn't have that repetitive feel. Rare to hear that from me on any song. Now since I am new to the whole house genre I can't compare yours to others. BUT if there are any better house songs on NG, they better be all platinum records since your song seems very well done. Keep the beats coming. Bye for now.

Turning-Japanese responds:

Thanks man. Your review is appreciated, as always!

umm okay review

Your description makes me anticipate what kind of song this could be. So starts with that weird sound accompanied with percussion and that clapping. Weird distortion, but interesting to hear. I would like to party, but for some reason I'm not feeling it from this song of yours. Very repetitive, but good attempt on I guess remixing it. Never heard of the original one so not sure what you added on. I'm going to give you 8/10 and 5/5 voting. Looks like you made this song just for laughs so probably explains the lack of diversity. Can you review my dancefloor songs and the new one "Classical's last Hurrah"? Thanks

Quite the abrupt description you got there. Starts peaceful. Nice. Oh some humming going on. Great addition. Did you get these voices from your friends or is it yours or your music program's pre recorded voices? You should have not moved to the robot voice. I loved the initial voices. Yah the words are kinda cheesy but not many songs with lyrics on NG. Highly original. I'm going to 5/5 this one. Check out some of my recent stuff plz? Thanks Continue to make more music with vox.

LaymanLove responds:

Haha, I figured short and sweet would best get the point across. The female voice is a friend and the rest I sang with my good buddy Mr. Autotune. I kinda agree with you on the vocoder thing, but it's only by itself for a short while so I wasn't too bothered...the song is supposed to be somewhat cheeseball anyway.

Thanks for the great review. I'll check out some of your stuff sometime.

First review. Yah!!! Well starts cheery. I love those. I sense the heaven synths working hard. Waiting for some new things to happen but seems like it continues repeating. Something new???? Changing the drums in the background doesn't count as diversity. I want the leading synth to change alot. Changes slightly at the end, but lacking on the diversity. However, I am happy you made a happy song. I will give you a 8/10 and a 5/5 on review. Add some variety in your next song. Take time to make it because you are making songs way too fast. Check out my recent songs? (dancefloors and classic last hurrah?) Lots of diversity in those ones. Thanks

Okay review time.

You seem to review flash vids alot more than music reviews. Your song starts with a bit of build up. Freezes for a moment and you add that funky sound. It's good but I think you went super excessive over the repetitiveness. Feels like I'm listening to a loop. Finally something changes but it is the same tune just a different synth. Hmm. You should have made your song alot shorter and quicker in the transition instead of spreading it out soo much. The rest of the song follows a similar pattern where you do a loop but with different synths. I guess if people want to get in a trance, they will love this song. I however get bored quite quickly. I will give you 8/10 since first time using FL7 and a 5/5 voting so your score doesn't drop, but cut down on the repetitiveness. Take a listen to some of my recent songs (dancefloors and classic hurrah plz? Thanks Bye for now. Oh and it seems like you enjoy looonnnggg endings :)

Well I reviewed your "searching for the spacboy" a while ago. So now I listen to this song. Forgot the "e" though :) Quite spacy, but not quite dark enough to be considered a rave. Your profile is light though so I can't complain. Pretty good song to hear but some parts you leave kinda alone with one sound going which slows the action down. Also the siren part is a bit too long. I can understand why you used the siren to have that atmosphery feel/spacy feel to it, just a bit shorter or less on it would make the song better. 2.5/5 was the score before and I am assuming a blammer gave you 0/5 on purpose. I will balance that out with a 5/5 , but review wise I give you 8/10. More action or make more busy. Nevertheless good job. Bye for now.

Triented responds:

Well, you will see that I am starting a music series called Spaceboy. Its going to tell a story, I thought the song was very fast, in fact, It is the fastest of all my songs as of yet. Thanks for the review, and I do hate blamers. I thought I made a big mistake by adding the cymbal. It sounds more like Christmas bells. And I don't think the siren was too long. If you listen closely, you will hear the longest siren stops at the precise moment and time, the siren wouldn't be juicy without length. But the end could use a little bit of work. Thanks again!

Good stuff but,

What's with the CCCCCCC GGGGGG AAAAAAA STOP? Would have been perfect if you ended with FFFFFF. Congrats on getting the top 3 spot. Kinda atmosphery and cheery trance song. I like this alot. I'm all for happy songs. Which part is the riff? 9/10 on review and a 5/5 voting!!!! Listen to some of my stuff too? Thanks

Stargame responds:

Eh, I didn't put much work into this song. Despite that, I still like it a lot. I can't fix the end, as I'm using the demo version of FL, so it's gonna stay like that. Glad you like it! Keep mixing :)

High volume check rdy

Ready to listen. Starts atmosphery. Waiting for that pendulum effect. When you mean pendulum you mean where the drums switch speakers back and forth? I heard a guy's voice that seemed raspy. Ravy style of song. This one started a bit more diverse than your other songs. Glad your adding more diversity now. Hmm it was really good, but near the end you repeat that same pattern too many times. I still liked it. Loved the pendulum. Yeah I sense a bit of hip hop too. Good stuff. 5/5. Bye for now.

ZeRo-BaSs responds:

Hi Music-story!
In this song i almost recreated perfectly the Pendulum Style drums..yay! =D

thank you for the feedback!!

Trying new stuff I see

Ambient now. Have not reviewed a single ambient song so yours is the first. Yeah starts quite calm. I can't really describe the synths you used. Very strange sounds. Woah, I heard some crazy distortion. That caught me off guard. I'm getting mixed ideas. The distortion part gives me the feeling of chaos, but the rest of the song gives me the feeling of calmness. Two things contradicting eachother. Kinda repetitive, but very interesting. Never heard of a song like this before. This song could work in a horror video game. Oh you do the fade out to finish the song. I guess that is suitable. Not sure how else to end this song. Since I never heard any other ambient songs, I can't really compare which is better so I'll think yours is the best ambient song on NG :) So 10/10 review and 5/5 voting. Bye for now

Karco responds:

Wow, an honor, I guess. =P Yeah, I've been delving in quite a few styles as of late... Aster Revisited and this included.

Some of the effects I use in this song, especially the effects I introduce in the thirteenth measures (after the snare drum) are especially unique - I remember hearing them and thinking, "I HAVE to make a song out of these."

The distortion... what? That was unintentional, though I think it's the bass that plays sixteenth-notes... for some reason it was messing with the clarity/bass and I didn't know how to get it to stop. =(

A horror video game? Where'd you get that idea? That actually wasn't what I was trying to get at all. I was aiming for a quieter, calmer song, (compared to the two before it, at least) at the image of walking in a snowy field, or something like that. But if that's the image you get, then if you say so...=\

The BEST Ambient on NG? Certainly not! XD Go listen to some artists who actually are FAMOUS here for their ambient! Hah!

...mind you, I wish it were. =D

Either way, thanks for reviewing and glad you like it. Much appreciated.

What does Aster mean? End of the world....feels like a song in metroid prime with those alien dudes invading the planet. Video game maybe? Very dark yet surprisely not sad or depressing. Those alien/zombie sounds kinda get a bit too frequent and overlap too much. Gets very distorted later in the song. Yep, now bigger aliens are attacking the planet. :) Fades out and yep the world is toast. So your first attempt at DNB. Quite a good attempt. This song sounds alot like g-r4ve songs. I'm not really a big fan of the undead sounds, but still quite creative putting them in. Originality is no problem. Looks like it took you 5 days to make this song so the effort is there too. Overall I will give you a 9/10 on review...ahh nah, 10/10 because everyone hates the 9 :). and a 5/5 on review. Reviewing your other new song right now.

Karco responds:

Aah, about time someone asked! I'll explain at the end of the response, to be sure you (and any other readers of this, hah) read the entire thing.

Yeah, a few of these synths are from the last song, Project -Aster-, making a comeback. They're the laser synth (I tinkered with that one a bit) the Roswel Landing synth (FL users should recognize that 3x0sc synth, it's one of my favorites for this style of song) and I used a sawtooth, but a different one from the last song, which I felt fit the idea more.

My drums are much more complex, so yeah, bigger aliens definitely are attacking our Earth. What I especially love is the hit I have playing every fourth measure (or every other measure at times) which certainly gives it that apocalyptic feel. I'm very proud of that choice there.

All right, so my reasoning behind Aster... there's a couple reasons, actually. Aster is the root word (Greek, I think) for DISaster, and the reasoning behind that is fairly obvious. Note the word sounds like star... this is because at the time they felt disasters came from/were the doing of the stars. And since this song is based around alien invasions, it felt only too fitting I named it Aster.

So I hope my explanation answered all your questions... thanks for reviewing! On to responding to your other review...
