mmm chrono trigger

Is chrono cross any different from the snes chrono trigger? That game was fun though the triple team specials was pretty pointless. I have to disagree with you about chrono trigger being the best (classic) game in the world. For me the best classic video game is Gunstar Heroes for sega. :) You used your ear to make all these notes replicate the orginal? That's a very good set of ears you got. Much more busier with that crazy sounding synth. I have no clue what instrument that is. Not sure why you would put this in dance. Video game section is more ideal. Wow..that's a long wait before the song loops again. This well most likely be used in a chrono trigger/cross flash movie. Video game music is so popular on NG. They all tend to work great with flash. Now someone has to tell the video game music lovers to come to the dance section and listen to this song of yours. :) Time for you to tell all the flash artists to check out this song. 5/5 and a 9/10 rev. (Note remixes don't get 10 from me) Bye for now

Thanks man. Ya chrono trigger is WAY different then Chrono Cross...anyways thanks for your time and stuff.

Date explain?

Did something happen in 1765 worth knowing? The song starts good, but I think that choir sound was a bit too loud. Once you get to the main part I sense a mini battle. I guess the digital like sounds give the high tech stuff they had back in 1765? Probably lame technology. However when the piano comes in... well no more battle. Sounds quite mellow which contrasts the dark bells. Short and sweet song. You got alot of diversity going on so that's good. I think in this song you used alot more special fx than your other songs. The piano part is probably where the tough composition starts to come. You and I both seem to like chords alot. Yah for chords. Question. Is this how general rock is supposed to sound like? Have fun making music. Bye for now.

Turning-Japanese responds:

1765 is really a pretty arbitrary year, but it's supposed to conjure thoughts of antiquity, and you'll notice it's just a short while after the baroque era.

The special effects obviously aren't supposed to be representative of the time, but you'll notice the choir and their gregorian stlye chanting seem to fit the theme, along with the not-so-counterpuntal piano part.

Personally, I would consider 'classical rock' to be any song that's hybrid of both classical (strings, choir, compositional arrangement) and rock music.

Thank you, as always for your review!

Hmm...has a baroque feel

Back to the classical medieval video games. The beginning is nice...I like the soothing part in the middle more. I'm not sure about that horn during the quiet part where it does very quick stabs or staccatos. Besides that, when the horns reenter as a chorus...very nice. You managed to keep this classical song to well strictly classical instruments. I've heard alot of classicals on NG that have a blend of electronic stuff and classical instruments so I guess yours is like the 100% classical if that makes sense. I like the diversity going on. I see your a classical music maker. Not sure how you can fit part 2 in? I've seen some ppl on NG post 9 minute songs that had still decent clarity. For not mastering this song...well it sounds mastered to me. The panning of the drums, horns, and really no fuzz gives me impression you had to have done some mastering or were really lucky to pick all the right plugins on the first time to get clear sounds. Overall I'll give you a 5/5 and a 10. Go logic. :) Oh effort a 9 cause you said this is a rough draft. Bye for now

ProfessorChaos22 responds:

Hey man thanks. About the Mastering, it is mixed down pretty well but not mastered yet (the final volume is still too soft and i need a final EQ).
Part II is 7,700 K large and 7 minutes long, far too big for the portal. You can check it out on Mysapce http://www.myspace.com/chrisnewby420, it's simply called Epicanna Part II. I wish I could put it up here but what are you gonna do.
Thanks for the review and I will check out your stuff right now! LAter

ouch!

The beginning of the song really got my ears shocked. Started with a very loud bang. The song sounds fuzzy in some parts. I'm not sure if this is really dancy. I think miscellanous section would be better. You got a creative style no doubt about that. As you said, the song does loop too much. You need more stuff going on. Change up the drums maybe? Anyway I think this is your 3rd dance attempt so thanks for making the dance section grow and NG overall. Make more dancier ones next time. So 5/5 and a 8/10 review. The fuzziness and not too much diversity took your 10 away. Sorry. Bye for now.

YOU Most Certainly Have A Point About The Beginning Of The Song.
Oddly This Is Unintentional,& It Seems To Only Do It That Way On NG.
The Intro Volume Varies Decibel-Wise
Depending On What Player(s) Are Being Used.

I Know That ' DANCE ' Music
May Have A Particular Form To It These Days,

A Way To Dance To It, It Can Be Called
"DANCE MUSIC".

I Looked At Some Of My Sound Sources,

Oh new song by eon :)

Well making alot of remixes. A remix artist now I suppose. I think your trancy like synth is too fuzzy. I don't know if that was intentional but it makes the speakers sound annoying. I never heard of the original and I was expecting some vox besides the opera like style. I suppose that's Rachel's style. Nice voice though. Maybe my speakers are screwed up but whenever that trancy sound comes in, fuzzing starts occuring. I'm not sure about this one. Its a long song and gets me a little bit sleepy. I can see this song in a rpg game. Your song is at a 4/5. I guess I can change that. As usual well done on the piano composition. Your tracks are usually clear (no fuzz) but I guess this one slipped by unless you intentionally did that. I'm also not sure about that vox later in the song where she sounds like a chipmunk for a brief moment. Did you use voice transformer or something? 5/5 vote and 9/10 review. TY for posting music on NG...especially the dance section. Bye for now

EON responds:

Where did it sound fuzzy? I noticed it did distort my speakers a bit with the piano solo sometimes, not quite sute why.
And yeah, when you pitch voices up they do kinda sound chipmonky. Didn't do anything fancy, just shifted it.
Thanks for the feedback.

oh like the lead synth

I agree with the first review that the drums are a lil quiet. I like the rhythm of this song. You should make this to a full length song. Add some more harmonies on top too. Short review for a short song. 5/5 vote and 8/10 review (loops don't get higher than a 8 from me) You said you were making many loops (what I understood from your description) so combine all of them together to make a full length song? TY for posting music on NG. Bye for now

On-yX responds:

:) Thanks man!

I'll have a go with your idea

Rev.

K since you reviewed my song I'll review this umm very short loop. How long did this take you to make? I know you can do better than this. It sounds like you made this drum loop so that is good. Do you have "ultrabeat"? You can make very nice drum loops with it. Just takes a very long time and is a bit confusing. Anyway umm I can't give you a five however I'm still pleased with you submitting songs on NG. Make NG grow! :) So umm 4/5 and 7/10. Hope a 4 isn't too low. Bye for now

BlackPlastic responds:

No acually 4 is above what I would expect from anybody :).

Heres a question though. I have the FL demo and I was wondering how you make the song longer than 2 seconds without using the piano roll because I have been trying to figure that out for quite a long time.

Drop me a PM.

Heh yes ppl review!

When the song started I thought this was ambience. The dark sound just breaks away from the peaceful sounds. Yeah I can see where your going with the title. I really evil invasion. The atmosphery like sounds start coming in with some crazy distortion and panning. This is are crazy stuff. It had the dance feel with the drums, but I think dance may have not been the best genre to put this in. Anyway it did tell a story so great job on that. The dance section is kinda impossible to get high grades. I think the dance section gets attacked the most by the blammers. :( I love the dance section alot...too bad ppl hate it. Overall 5/5 and a 10/10 because I think this is your first song that kinda tells a story. One suggestion is to try not to use that code red sound you use. It osunds cool, but it's in alot of your songs already. Bye for now

wolf-tech responds:

yes i actually tried to tell a story this time. damn i was hoping i could get away with that little code red feel. o well, thanx for the review.

Hip hop now

Well I heard that funny sounding synth before...maybe in one of your previous songs? The drums and clap match the typical modern style. Sounds like techno digital hip hop. Too bad you had no lyrics. The low sound beat (not sure what instrument that is) gives a bit of theepic feel to it. I think better sounds would have made this a better hip hop modern song. That high pitch synth sounds too happy and doesn't give me the impression of some tough fight style. Some hip hop artist on NG told me that modern hip hop should have these characteristics so I'm going by his opinion. However I personally like happy sounds so I like it. It's not a surprise why the previous reviewer said it was not his style. Anyway overall a 5 voting and a 9/10 review. Not your best but kudos for trying a new genre out. Bye for now

F-777 responds:

Thanks man! Ya it would have been cool if it had lyrics.

Funky stuff

It's like the 80s all over again. Disco tech :) I was surprised when you used a violin like sound. Gave it the classical moody spinoff with disco. That's a first for me to hear. It's a pretty good song and the electronic sounds are very obvious. I would say the start of the song was the best. When that whiny like synth came in, well it didn't sound so cool. I see with the violins your like ascending upwards. I do that like too many times in my songs. It fits so well in all kinds of songs for some funny reason. Overall a 5/5 and sure take the 10. I guess 10 on diversity since you changed up the lead synths mostly throughout the song. Bye for now

F-777 responds:

Thanks man! Ya i used the same technique that i used in symphonic dreams. Thanks for the nice ratings!
