Late rev.

Techno? Well sure I guess. This feels quite warm and fuzzy. It only lasts for a bit though when the more serious sounds come in. I don't see foreign space theme but what I see is some kind of mysterious planet scene. Time to explore some messed up planet I guess. I think this song lacks the energy of the more common techno, but there is a lil story going on. Nice job on that. I don't know how you made that weird sound (you also finish the song with that sound). I'm not sure why the guy says "must be something with the music"? unless you thought this song is strange too. Again another unique song no doubt. Too bad ppl on NG don't like new ideas. Good overall but not some commmon music to listen too. Very indie like and possibly video gamish. Bye for now and continue to keep your music style. Nice to hear new things once in a while on NG.
P.S. At the VERY beginning of the song with that raising up sound...it felt like I was watching the "Dolby Sound" logo at a movie theatre. :)

DoobyTimePiece responds:

err. the sound at the end.... hmmm i gota lesion to here this. hmm i think your talking about the melody after the bridge. i think its a vox or a wind snyth. i tryed to build up on this but it just kept being mellow. -pouts- ohwell i did work hard to get the riffs to sound good in genrel i worked harder on this than i worked on the 2nd zasyyt song. (I just might get a guy to do a music video for zasyyt) but hehe dolby... i make all theast GBD songs when i start making flash for the CLock Crew. well maby not directly for but i enjoy the clock concept so i wanted to act on it. Fun

Very very very hard? You sound like the looney tunes guy that keeps wanting to kill bugs bunny. :)
You better know what I'm talking about cause that show is a classic. Well I have read a past review saying this song is repetitive. Meh I'll embrace that. So does original mix mean you made it or is this another remix? What is with the ending???? You made such a huge echo with too much reverb? or whatever you did to drag it on. You like the calming trances. I wouldn't say the drums are quite unique. One of the synths reminds me of the power of "Sculpture" Do you use that program too? So I suppose your gonna release this song to the public. Hope that goes well with you. Do I get 10% j/k Have fun with music making/remixing and bye for now.
P.S. Blammer = bad = everyone blammed gets 5/5 votee by me.

Pulstate responds:

Thanks mate, i wanted a long ending for dj's mixing it in the clubs. :)

Another Trance

Surprised you actually did a heavy metal song. Anyway does have the trance like theme to it. Lots of spacy flute and its quite powerful. The background trancy part is almost overpowered by the flute. I suppose its all about the flute player. I think you could have mixed up the drums. The kick and clap drums are good but no transition to fast drums to get the trancy feeling (aka head bobbing :) ) Back to the beginning. The flute with that one other instrument accompanying it...based on the other instrument (not the flute) it is off tune or maybe it is in tune but the note you chose didn't fit with flute. Hmm hard to explain but you know how you have 3 notes accompanying flute. Plays one note for a bit (call it A) than go down a pitch (call it B) and up a pitch or two (call it C). I'm talking about part A. That note didn't fit. There we go. Hope you understood.

On to the flute. Your playing a bunch of notes which is good for the difficulty factor. It changes up a bit and returns back to the same pattern. Typical of trance. Usually I don't mind the repetition in trance, but because you got a overpowering flute, hearing it hit those high pitch notes over and over again gets noxious to the ears. The solution to this while maintaing the flute player theme would be to change up the flute. Say use the spacy flute your using then switch up to say a pop flute, than a muted flute, etc.. Besides that I think you did a good composition. You went all crazy with the flute....maybe a little too much. Need to go more crazy with the drums. The synths and pads got you this time. This rarely happens to you; all your songs seem to have awesome sound choices but this one got you. Hope my review helped you. I also hope you see this as helpful advice rather than my whiny complaints. :) Good luck with your next song and have fun with it. Bye for now

DoobyTimePiece responds:

A B C? ok i believe you talking about the rythem melody the accompaniment with the flute about 45 seconds into the song? well i dont know it sounds ok over here. that or the bass line either way they went really changed. the melody was to be more technical but there were a few riffs that had been layered with a phaser twice. and it sounded like a hollow metal tube when u hit the higher notes. this is why i want FL when i get how to use that then my troubles will be over for the moment. the only worthy part of this song was its initial structure there for i give my self a smack for not spending more time in the finalizations. oh well till next time MS Peace.

LOL Now this song?

And it got blammed already. The blammer must be watching his/her computer screen for the next new submission to zero. Okay fine I'll review this one too. Help score up 5/5. Some parts are a bit messy due to too much reverb. Still gives that cool spacy feeling. Ugh...that chord progression down the scale sucked badly. Off key bits I hear to. It's cool to hear off key bits maybe once or twice in a song to add a new kind of feeling but to consistantly do it...hmm doesn't fit. Your previous songs had much better selection of drums. SoO plain with just the kick going. I know your soo much better than this g-r4ve. Anyway like your previous song it also has that spacy like feel which again I say is cool. Keep making more music. Tough luck posting music on the day the blammer is here. Oh well happens to us all at least once. Bye for now

g-r4ve responds:

your reviews suck

Xenogenocide?

Is this guy a person on NG or a professional musician? Anyway thanks for the lyrics on the first review. Now I know exactly what your saying. Clarity 10 :) Singing with the gut ehh??? This is strange to my ears...the gut singing. Your voice though sounds quite good. Good instruments used and boo using the fade out. :) Oh well. I like most of the song and its good that you often bring music with lyrics. What's your inspiration to come up with such strange but unique lyrics? Anyway today is a-bot day so gl not getting zeroed by the blammer. I'll keep your score at 5 and umm 9/10. Sorry the gut singing really didn't fit with me well. Still awesome stuff. Bye for now

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Yeah, Xeno is a metal music maker here on NG! http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/view.php?id=1047089&sub=83247

Some awesome music there!
Yeah, the fade out was Xenos, as he wrote, composed and performed all the music. I probably would have went with the fade out as well, as it brings the song full circle...(it faded in). I tossed around the idea of fading out the "ba ba ba's". But ..Yeah, gutteral, throaty vocals.;) Every sub genre of metal has a different style. These are my favorite, although I really like screamo too. I can do a few other styles..but these fit this song well.

Its cool to know that people like the vocals in tunes, here. The portal was created way back when, for the flash artists to get free loops and shit. Anyways man, glad you liked it overall. Stay tuned for other styles of metal too. :D haha. As for lyrics, I don't know where my twisted mind comes up with them. hahaha. Thanks again, man!\m/

what have I missed!

You make music now for the madness series flash? So many madness flash coming soo quickly it's awesome. I like the bunny kill series the best. I'm so proud of you man. How could I have missed you developing into a great musician. The last time I remembered you were making lots of hip hop modern. Now techno. Wow where have I been. Dang it. I wish I could have been there where you started to advance in techno. Oh well. I can definately see this in a madness flash...heck it already is used in a flash. Nice job. Keep the techno coming. Bye for now

tomfitz responds:

thanks music-story. Glad to see your still here and you can expect more techno from me soon.
=]

Here is my rev to you.

Ambient...I'm not an expert in knowing what makes a good ambient song. I'll try my best to be fair. First off...is this a remix? No? Than I compliment you for the vox like humming. Yikes a 5 minute song! I suppose the baby like bells are good. The transition was quite sudden. Maybe a long echo (or reverb) could have made the transition better. This 2nd section is more calm. The humming with the two voices is good, but one of them sounds funny. Now this next transition is much better. Faster song style now. Too bad the female vox isn't saying any lyrics. I understand your pattern now. You change up the back ground which is awesome considering I love diversity however even though you change the background...once you make the transition it kinda repeats. Add that with the vox repeating and well it's not much diversity. However this is your style and you like long buildups so I respect that. You gotta make the song shorter though. This length may be perfect to relax to outside in the breeze but I'm sitting inside in front of my computer. :) I can see you put alot of thought into making this and I know others will love this. Ambient just not my fav genre. I like upbeat kind of music. Overall I liked the fast part of the song, loved the vox though I hoped for lyrics, and I like how you at least changed the background to not get me bored. 5/5 and 10/10. Ask SBB to rev. this song. He knows alot more about ambient than I do. Sorry for the lame review. Bye for now

Smad responds:

Thanks man, I like people who leave meaningful reviews whether good or bad. :D
Yeah this good would be ideal as a backing track for a serious flash (hint hint) lol. Neways, thank you for listening to my song and giving a thoughtful review, I appreciate it. Btw my other songs are plenty upbeat, listen to them :P.

Smad.

I guess you don't mean me

I never doubted you. I also tend to vote high even if the song so deserves a low vote. It's the reviews that matter more. So now back to your song. I would say that you purposely made this repetitive to piss off the guys who hate your music. I think alot of ppl like your style its just the blammer that doesn't. However the blammer hates everyone on NG. Name any artist on NG and he/she will say he/she got blammed at least once. Anyway I know you can make much better music. You didn't try on purpose which is easily understandable by the title of this song. Sry I ain't downloading this song. :) No hard feelings on the low review score right? I'll give you good vote anyway. Bye for now

Platinum-Chrome responds:

naw mayn your my dawg may, they dont understand i mean the haters

Killer x ok

Hmm sounds familiar. It's like the 80s kinda rock. I just imagine the rockers in black leather with their greasy hair. Also has a james bond 007 feel in one section of the song. I like the guitar you used. A bit repetitive though. I think it looped once. Overall this is some cool stuff. Has a jumpy excited feel to it. Well constructed and again only problem was the diversity factor. Kudos on another great song. Your on a roll...keep it coming. 5/5 and 9/10 rev. Vox would really work good in this song. Bye for now. (sorry for the late review)

Turning-Japanese responds:

Good call, man. This reply is WAY late - sorry.
But yeah, this track was originally meant to have vocal tracks (to keep the listener's attention). I'm glad you got all that imagery out of it though. If you listen carefully, it doesn't actually loop halfway through - the second go-round has a brief change in chord retrogression.

Thanks for your review, as always!

Never heard of the original

Putting some tremelo on the instrument I see. Has a nice feeling at the beginning. The drums are gentle ...peaceful. I think you should get rid of that tremelo feature where the piano starts like echoing alot. Gets annoying, but besides that I think you should continue finishing up. Don't want to waste all that time to make this. Sounds to me already half the song is complete. I'll wait for the final version if you decide to continue. GL with that and bye for now

DSMagnum responds:

I didn't use tremelo, but reverb. I was messing around with some plugins I got.
