Here are my thoughts

Yeah the drum into at 8 secs in worked good. I've heard this drum loop pattern alot but first from you so still good. The hi hat is nice but sounds like your hitting a hard wood block that stops too quickly giving the unnatural feel. The tune is good to I guess chill to. At 1:00 the piano playing is nice. However I think your velo on some notes may be too hard. Usually its the high pitch ones for this song. (Is that the 2nd piano causing the overpowering piano stabs?) I like the piano playing from 1:48 to 2:02. Yeah the reintroduction of the piano staccatos with the velo problem. Oh that one sound to finish the song was really nice. Overall a bit loopy, but you can't chill to diverse music so I'll still give you a 10 on diversity. A good relaxing feel I got from this. This could work for lounge music. Another good house track. Blammed, well I guess it was gonna happen sooner or later. Til next time...bye for now.

ya it got blammed alright, ATTENTION ALL BLAMMERS, READ MY PROFILE MESSAGE!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah nice profile pic

I'm guessing you love the good ol capcom vs snk 2 game. I don't like that character though. All about ken masters. To the song...has a happy tune. The bass is good but may need some more reverb or atmosphery feel to it. Very short loop that could work in a video game. Short review for a short song. One more thing. It is difficult to hear the background atmosphery support. The main lead overpowers it. I hate lowering ppl score so 5/5 vote and a 8/10 review. Bye for now

AznPB responds:

It's because there is no backround atmoshphery support. ;) It's just the lead and some drums.

Go ahead and lower the score if you like. There's nothing wrong with being brutally honest.

Rev.

Oh the good ol video game music for the age of knights, kings, etc. Not much is given in this sample to really decide whether something good is going to happen. One thing I can say is that I hope after the 50 secs you change the tune around. It gets boring quickly. Charming song though. Anyone say rpg music. :) GL with the final version. Like the intro of this sample. Okay no song like this deserves a 3/5 so I'll 5/5 vote and 8/10 rev. Til next time...bye for now

Sir-Panda responds:

Oh don't worry about the change buddy ..After these first 50 seconds or so, the song speeds up and gets a little more powerful.

Thanks for the review ^^

Not bad at all

Your microphone may not be the best which hurts the clarity of your playing. Has a decent tune. Good job on the playing of the instrument...banjo? steel guitar? not sure. The song begins to drag on. This style could work in a wedding reception....when everyone is eating their dinner. Not much else to say. 5/5 for being unique and making a blues song. 9/10 rev. . Minus 1 for the clarity and the draging feeling. Bye for now

Mp3-Lock responds:

lol its just 3 chords repeated forever so yhea it drags on, it wasn't really a song, just something I could improvise over
=)

And its electric guitar.

Calm like

Reminds me of zero bass music style. Starts all slow and then quickly moved into a faster beat. Maybe not a continual fast beat. A smooth song for the most part. Like the bass. Also the driplet effect you put on one of the instruments. The nice attack time on the soothing sound is right on. Matches good with the bass. Very brief guitar sounds here. 1:36 and 2:04 are the only times I noticed the guitar. I'm guessing you did that for special effect support? At 0:32 you introduce the clap/kick drum loop and I think another drum (brushes?) on top. Again at 1:24ish till rest of song. Good way to save up your library of drum loops for future songs, but a lil variety would be better. However I like how you take the drums away in two occasions. That in itself is diversity. A tad bit loopy song, but I think you wanted the listener to get in this relaxing feel. It worked...reminds me of ecco the dolphin for sega genesis. :) Not much else to say. Another clear song, well mastered. Overall a 5/5 vote and 10. Til next time...bye for now

F-777 responds:

Thanks man! You seem to be able to hear everything thats going on in the song. Ya i have had a couple complaints about the diversity of the drums...and i did have the beat changing and stuff but the patterns got all messed up so i just took them out and left this steady beat going on.

Anyways thanks for the awesome review!!! (runs off to search ecco the dolphin on google =D)

Great title :)

A soft trance. Has a slight suspense feeling to it. Feels lonely at times where you only got the two sounds going. No drums? Yah I know you don't need drums to make a great song, but when you only got like 2 instruments going, you need some background support. What drums you did have going didn't support the song to great extent. The best part of the song is when you had 3 sounds going at once. I like the rhythm overall. Just needs more contrasts, buildups, etc. What plugin did you use on your instruments? In conclusion I'll give you a 5/5 vote. Watch out for the blammer. Since you only recently joined NG audio portal, I will start you off with a 10/10 review too. Your alot better than me when I first started. Bye for now
Score 2.5 to 3.33.

ejmalichi responds:

hey thx for the review, your right, but i like that pattern so later i will do something more with it,

i used 3x Osc just basid fl stuff.

Woah that many revs?

Umm I guess my rev won't stand out. Were you mad at someone when you made this. Just curious about the title of this song. As usual you and alot of other heavy metal musicians are experts at making guitars into hardcore heavy metal guitars. I like the fast drum beats in the climax. Maybe that part got dragged on a tad bit too long. That high pitch guitar in the left and the lower pitch guitar in the right, than back to the left speaker...ahh. Now your going crazy. Well I liked all of this, but the ending was pretty lame. No offense, but I think you would agree with me. If you want, a tad bit more diversity. Since I'm not a heavy metal guru like you I have no clue how diverse heavy metal should be. Overall I'll 5/5 it. Keep the panorama going in your future songs. I like the intensity when you pan everywhere. Bye for now

GoreBastard responds:

Thanks mate.
Haha, yeah you have to be mad at something to make a heavy metal song! lolz

I DO agree with you about the ending. I pretty much rushed the whole thing really as a test of new equipment. This isn't anything like other songs I've done, since it's only got 4 different riffs in it. usually I diversify it by having about 4 million riffs involved! hahaha.

Cheers for taking the time to review it mate.

Wow this is a huge change

Your into the nice atmosphery songs and then this fast song comes oout of nowhere. Did you put a flanger on that umm instrument? Some cool sounds. Love that fx noise. Some fast playing of notes too. The bass is a good idea. The ending is okay. Could have ended better, but at least it didn't fade out. I think you should have changed that flanger thing instead of use it for the entire song. Add a new flanger beat or maybe silence it and reintroduce it later. For some reason I just imagine that if you put some amp and panorama on the flanger to give the rising up feel, it would have sounded really cool. I haven't done it in any of my songs yet, but maybe I'll try it. I can't complain about diversity since this is trance so diversity a 10. So what I really enjoyed about the beginning is the introduction. I like how you kept cutting out the percussion to short moments and gradually brought the whole percussion into motion. What may have been the down side is that the song never reached a peak...sure it reached a climax but not the energy I was expecting. If you were going for the space feel...kudos to you cause I imagined myself in space dodging asteroids. 5/5 and 10/10. The reason is because I haven't heard a fast song from you in a while so this is refreshing. Bye for now

Karco responds:

Responding to your other review... thanks for the high ratings! :)

Actually I've been making plenty of songs like this, I just haven't submitted them to NG. But I'll get them on here sooner or later and they won't fail to please! >:D

Hmm, there's no flanger in this song! I can't see how you got that idea. But I'll stick a flanger on this song and see how it goes...

Yeah, there was a climax! You know, the snare roll, the buildup, and then BOOM? And then the drums come crashing in again. :D I guess I should have tried harder with it. Aah, well.

Thanks for the review, Music-story! Glad you like it, and thanks also for the high ratings... :D

Okay rev

I like metroid for gameboy (the old gameboy with yellow screen) the best because it is the hardest out of all the metroids I've played so far. Some rain, thunder claps, and a bit of a epic feel. Well the violins sounded a bit strange when you were trying to fade into silence. I get a picture of battle preparations. No battle yet. Sounds like this song loops a bit with the elements and strings doing same stuff. However for video game music looping doesn't really matter too much...yah I know you put this in classical. Video game theme and classical instruments = classical I guess. Like those orchestral drums. I forgot what those drums are called, but they tend to give classicals a epic boost in my opinion. I think I heard brass at the beginning of the song. Overall 5 vote (too low score already) 9/10 review. I noticed that with FL and reason...and basically any music program I heard so far (besides mine) have the strings stop quickly. Eg. When you strike a string of any string instrument the string vibrates. When you strike the same string again the sound should be different because your striking a already vibrating string. FL and reason seem to destroy the physics so that when striking the same string in quick succession, the vibration of that string is canceled and the note you played is like hitting a non vibrating string. This gives the unrealistic characteristics of real life strings. Of course this isn't your fault, but your program's fault. Whenever you get bored of your music program try seeking for the program called "SCULPTURE". One of a kind that follows the physics of real sounds giving classicals a more realistic feel. (BTW I suck at classicals so sculpture benefits are minimal to me, but your pretty good in this genre.) Bye for now.

Karco responds:

Hey, Music-story! You reviewed both! :D Thanks a lot, I'll start by responding to this one...

Yep, no battle yet. :P This isn't as much about battles as it is about that "triumphant" feeling, when you feel you've won something.

Another thing - I was actually debating with myself whether to submit this under Video Game or Classical, as I had good reason to submit it under both. You can see I ended up with classical...

That classical drum is a timpani... ;)

Heh, thanks for the 5! :) Yeah, I'll agree about the strings - problem is, I use free soundfonts so they're naturally not quite as high-quality as I'd like them to be. I'll give Sculpture a look, though, it definitely looks interesting... Thanks for the review and the advice, Music-story! :)

Hmm :)

Well I was drawn to this song by your name. Maestrorage and then another maestro_____. First thought was does maestrorage have two accounts? Read your profile message and I see you guys are a family of classical musicians. This song has a tribal feeling with those nice drums. I find that too much looping is going on that I get bored. For a video game this would be perfect. As for just listening to it alone (with no pixelated characters with guns) well it isn't too appealing. However, I sense that you did this intentionally so I can't really complain. Are you making a video game that can use this song? Okay so I'll give you a 5/5 vote and a 9/10 review. What does KW mean? Bye for now

MaestroSegments responds:

ah hello Music_story! You are right to assume that this piece is not meant to stand on it's own feet. Without a visual reference it becomes rather tedious as you stated.

This is in fact for an online game team i'm a part off, the full version will of course be much more diverse, but as a loop this is perfect as is.

KW means (K)ey (W)ords, to allow flash authors to easily search and find the piece. This account is made purely to help flash authors with useful loops, or small pieces that I don't want to put on my full song page!

Thank you for the review ^^, i'm glad you liked it!
